WelcomeY'all

What to expect at an Absolute Beginner Class..........

Learn some basic steps & dances in a FUN & relaxed environment, gain confidence, let your brain & feet connect, & have great fun doing it!

This is a slow paced class, dances & steps will be broken down & repetitive to maximise your learning & dancing experience.

No experience necessary, no partner required, just wear comfy closed in shoes & bring water, cause it's a great workout (better than ya think)!

This class is a casual way to have a go, have some FUN & decide if this Bootscootin' thang is for you!

But before we get to this......

we slow it down,

we break it all down

AND

teach you all the steps

What to expect at each class level...

ABSOLUTE
BEGINNER

We currently only offer this class one hour per week, Wednesday nights only, 6-7pm.

In this class you will get the opportunity to learn some basic steps, with plenty of repetition & breaking down steps & dances.

At the end of your Absolute Beginner experience we change this class up (same day & time) starting with an easy, slow paced Beginner class for a gentle transition into Beginner level.

Make sure you're following Geraldton Bootscooters Facebook page for more frequent updates.

REGULAR
BEGINNER

All beginner classes run for 1 hour, we usually walk through a full rotation, extra if necessary & less if not, break down any steps dancers may be having trouble with & give y'all as much of a chance as possible while still moving the class along at a decent pace.  Dances are not repeated in this class unless it is a new dance being taught.

All dances in this level are Beginner dances only, we choose different dances with a variety of steps with varied levels of difficulty to ensure a mix of easy on the brain & coordination, but to also offer enough of a challenge to not get bored.

How to get into this class??

You will need to start with our Absolute Beginner class!  This will give you all the basics you will need to thrive in this class.  We do not allow walk-ins from this level up, this is out of respect for all our dancers who take the time to be consistent & learn all the dances.

We run 3 regular Beginner classes every week, see the above timetable for days & times.

HIGH
BEGINNER

High Beginner level classes are for Beginners that are ready to step up, need to learn & coordinate a few more harder steps, must have a good understanding of all Beginner level steps & recall of dances.

In a High Beginner class, unless a new dance is being taught (or we haven't danced a dance for a while) we usually do a quick 2 wall walk through (one in steps & one in counts) & get into dancin'.  This is a faster paced class & learning environment so experience & knowledge in lower level dances & classes is an absolute must, this is where it all comes together & is so much FUN!

We currently offer High Beginner level dances in 3 classes per week, they are usually danced at the beginning of a mixed level class, but are occasionally scattered throughout the dance list.

Please check the timetable above for days & times you can join this level.

IMPROVER

Improver level classes & dances are for experienced dancers only, by now you have a good understanding of all steps, can recall & perform steps as called & are seeking a FUN challenge!

During an Improver level class we do very few walk throughs, unless we are starting a new dance or a dancer/s have specifically asked for one, once started experienced dancers are usually able to recall dances.

If you are a High Beginner dancer wanting to step up to Improver level, your best opportunity to succeed is to watch the Impover level dances being danced & familiarise yourself with the music, dance & steps, never try to take on any more than 2 dances at a time, trying to do too much will actually slow down your ability to remember them.  One at a time, no more than two!  You will get there soon!

We currently offer 3 classes per week that include Improver level dances, please check the timetable above for days & times.

Next class up is Intermediate, we'll let y'all know when ya are ready for that.
